"This internship has been a very positive work experience for me and very rewarding both professionally and personally."
How did you come to do your internship at Bayer?
As part of my studies in pharmacy and my specialization in regulatory affairs, I wanted to do my final internship at Bayer, to discover a different work environment and apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during my Masters 2 course. I was drawn by the group's LIFE values, the diversity of its product portfolio and its international reputation and influence. My decision was also swayed by the great variety of roles and responsibilities available.
What roles and responsibilities were you given?
The roles and responsibilities I was assigned gave me a comprehensive overview of subsidiary registration regulatory affairs, mainly by supporting two of the department's pharmacists. Throughout my internship, I was trained in the activities involved in developing and registering the product portfolio, from the initial marketing authorization through to monitoring products to maintain their marketing authorization. This involves updating product files throughout the product life cycle, in liaison with the relevant authorities, in our case, the ANSM (French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety). It led me to work in collaboration with other departments at local and group level - the Medical Affairs, Market Access and Marketing teams, etc. - which was very instructive for me and showed me what role each stakeholder played in one and the same file.
What guidance and support were you given?
As an intern, I was a fully-fledged member of the team. I was very well received and overseen by the team's regulatory affairs pharmacists, who involved me in each of their functions. They managed to be receptive to my questions and give me the advice I needed.
I was supported throughout my internship and regularly monitored. This internship has been a very positive work experience for me and very rewarding both professionally and personally. It's a real opportunity to seize when you're a student, motivated and looking for excellent training...
